Coming this Friday, September 18th! We invite members of the Pittsburgh Cycling Community to join us, alongside Retired London Frie Brigrade firefighter @stephenaslin while he rides through Pittsburgh as part of Grenfell World Cycle. Stephen will be this ride to remember and bring attention to tragic 2017 Grenfell Tower disaster in London, and the role that the Pittsburgh based company Arconic played in allowing this disaster to occur.

It’s about time I make another post! Geez, what’s wrong with me? Anywho, if you’ve been to @pgh_critical_mass in the last two months, you’ve probably seen me, with the approval of the organizers, taking over the Mass Mechanic role. I went back and forth on how I wanted to announce it to the social media world. Word of mouth seemed to work pretty well, but I couldn’t postpone another month.

Love is in the air and a number of important anniversaries mark this month's edition of our joyous community bike ride. We will be meeting in Friendship Park at 6pm, on Friday September 11th, a day which, among other things, is the 6th birthday of Pittsburgh Critical Mass in its current form. We will be riding down to Color Park on the Southside, so bring your art supplies!

Featuring: Arsenal spray park, water balloons, rowdy bikers, and Even More Water ™ show up at 6, we start rolling at 6:30! (if I'm wrong about this I'm sure goblin will correct me)

We biked a couple weeks ago, we'll be biking again in a couple more weeks. If you've been to Critical Mass before you should come talk about it! We'll be under the covered part of the patio at @twofraysbrewery tomorrow (8/2) at 6 to do just that. See you there!

I don't know about all of you, but we're tired of this superheated hellscape we're living through right now. Let's take the opportunity to vent some frustrations and keep cool in the process. Pittsburgh Critical Mass will once again be doing Critical Splash with the ride starting from Friendship July 10th meeting at 6pm and rolling at 630. The mid point will be at the Arsenal spray park, where they will be convenient pallets of water ballons waiting for us.

With our Pride Ride behind us and a summer of wild rides ahead of us, we want you to be involved in organizing them! We'll be having our monthly planning meeting this coming Sunday June 28th, at De Fer Cafe in the strip at 2:30pm. Topics will include next month's ride, last months, and anything you think can help make this community organized ride possible.

Alex Pretti was executed by ICE agents as he was trying to help another protester they had just pepper-sprayed. In addition to being an ICU nurse he was also a bikepacker, seen here with his Surly Ogre bike. When ICE killed him they killed one of us. ICE will never belong in Pittsburgh. They are a fascist tool, enacting state violence and terrorizing communities with impunity.

November Critical Mass is Friday, November 14th! Bring your bike, bring your friends, bring your lights, and meet us at Friendship Park at 6pm. We’ll roll at 6:30pm and our midpoint will be Schenley Park Overlook. We’ll return to Friendship at the end of the ride. 🚲 Swipe for the route. It’s just over 10 miles and has some gradual elevation to reach the overlook, but as always, we take it nice and slow here at Pgh Critical Mass.
